6.3-6.5 - confidentiality - keep the affairs of current and former clients confidential unless the client consents, Disclosure - make the client aware of all information material to the matter of which you have knowledge
6.1-6.2 - Conflicts of Interest - do not act if there is a conflict of interest or significant risk of this
6.3-6.5 - do not act for another client in a matter where the client has an adverse interest to another current or former client

What is the overriding objective? (CPR 1.1)

- enabling court to deal with cases justly and at a proportionate cost

Courts Duty to Case Manage

Encourage the parties to co-operate with each other
Identifying the issues at an early stage
Deciding promptly which issues need full investigation and trial and accordingly disposing summarily of the others
Encourage the parties to use an alternative dispute resolution procedure
Fixing timetables of otherwise controlling the progress of the case
Considering whether the likely benefits of taking a particular step justify the cost of taking it
Giving directions to ensure that the trial of a case proceeds quickly and efficiently
