Osmosis

Osmosis is the movement of water from a dilute solution to a more concentrated solution, through a partially permeable membrane. 

• Active Transport allows cells to move from an area of low concentration to an area of high concentration. 
• The substances move against the concentration gradient.
• Active Transport uses energy from cellular respiration.
