CROWDING

PROTRUDING UPPER INCISORS

PROMINENT LOWER JAW

OVERBITE- vertical over lap

OVERJET- horizontal overlap

CLASS 1 OCCLUSION- overjet 2-4mm over bite 50%

CLASS 2 DIVISION 1 MALOCCLUSION- overjet is greater than 4mm 

CLASS 2 DIVISION 2 MALOCCLUSION- overbite greater than 50% 

CLASS III malocclusion- Negative ovjet

fixed and removable appliances

FIXED APPLIANCE- composed of individual  metal or ceramic components bonded onto each tooth and connected together by an archwire, they cannot be removed from the mouth of the patient 

REMOVABLE AND FUNCTIONAL APPLIANCES- composed of an acrylic base with stainless stell clasps and springs , these can be removed from the mouth for cleaning, eating and adjustment 

Removable appliances 

ADAMS CRIBS- to retain the appliance in the mouth, usually to fit onto molar or premolar teeth and made of stainless steel

SPRINGS- in a variety of designs to move the teeth along the arch as required 

FUNCTIONAL APPLIANCES-  they are used to corect skeletal class II discrepancies where the mandible is further back from the ideal position/ up to 14 years old

MEDICAL

CYANOSIS- blueish discolouration of the skin due to poor circulation 

GREYPALLOR- presents of whiteness 

HYPOTENSION- abnormally low blood preassure

HYPOXIA- defficency in the amount of oxegyen reaching tissue

VASOVAGAL SYNCOPE- faint

DRSABC- danger/responsivness/shout/ airway/breathing/compressions

HYDROCORTISONE- skin conditions/ allergies and rash 

MYOCARDIAL INFRACTION- take asprin

Diazapan is an sedative that is used to help nervous patients 

HYPOTENSION- low blood preassure
