.....is the ''swamper'' (handyman) he lost a hand working on the ranch. he is a nice bloke and (for a while) had an old smelly useless dog.

curly

  is a little man, who is mean and bitter. he is aggressive, a bit seedy and he really, really, really dislikes Lennie. he is the boss son.

curley's wife

young, pretty, and a bit tarty. she is never given a name. this shows how much everyone thinks of her (nothing). she is the only women mentioned on the ranch. she is lonely and like to Euler the other men at the ranch.

The boss

only appears once. curley's dad and runs the ranch.

...... is the top dog among the ranch workers- they all respect him. he is Godlike and there's something about him that is a bit mysterious. he cares for everyone at the ranch and all ways considers how they must feel.

...... is the only black person on the ranch. hes discriminated against- has to sleep on his own behind the stables.

..... is big and completely insensitive bloke. he shoots candy's dog and stirs up trouble and doesn't understand anything really.

.....is young and enthusiastic about life on the ranch (what a fool!) he likes to go to Susy's brothel every saturday night.
