Non-contagious inflammatory skin disorders

• Caused by a flatworm parasite which is found in lakes and ponds
• Larvae penetrates the skin and dies
• Causes an inflammatory immune reaction involving an itchy rash
• This can last two to five days

• Caused by irritant or allergen
• Red, itchy and scaly skin
• Skin sometimes burns or stings
• Emollient should be avoided
