Background

Where? - Nepal is a small country inbetween China and India and is home to Mount Everest. It is a very poor country and many of the infrastructure was not build to cope with an earthquake that size.

When? - The powerful earthquake struck in the morning of Apirl 25 2015, between the capital city of Kathmandu and another city, Pokhara. The earthquake had a magnitude of 7.8, and tremor where felt by nearby counrties like Pakistan, Bangladesh and India. Thena  second strong earthquake, magnitude 7.3, hit eastern Nepal near Mount Everest on May 12 2015. More then 100 people had been killed and thousands more injured.

  • 200,000 families who lived in the tempory shelters through the winter
  • 6.6 billion dollars estimated cost to rebuild
