Movement of Substances

Diffusion- the movement of particles from an area of high concentration to low concentration.

Osmosis- the movement of water patricles across a partially permiable membrane from an area of high concentration to low concentration.

Active transport- when substances are absorbed against the concentration gradient which requires energy from respiration.
