Momentum

Momentum= Mass x Velocity

Momentum= Mass(in kg) x Velocity(in m/s)

Example : Daisy has a mass of 0.28g and is moving at 57m/s .
Lucie has a mass of 1.9kg and has a velocity of 1m/s.

They bump into each other and the gnome keeps going at 0.5m/s .
How fast did daisy move backwards ?

Md Vd - Mg Vg = -(Md + Vd new) - Mg Vg new

0.28 x 57 = 15.96
1.9 x 1 = 1.9 REMEBER TO ADD UNITS
15.96 - 1.9 = 14.06
14.06 = -0.28 V new - 1.9x0.5
14.06 + 0.95 = 0.28 V new d
15.01/-0.28 = -53.6 m/s which is the velocity of daisy
