Use of Cues

Cues can aid recalls by using signs that will remind us

 

Tulving and Pearlstone (1966) -

 

They used a technique where people were told to write down objects about a certain subject. One group has blank paper with no headings and the other group had paper with headings to prompt them

 

The headings allowed more people to remember what was said - they then read out the objects
