Shriffrin and Atkinson:
Sensory Memory- composed of several stores. Constantly recieving information, most recieves no attention and remains in the sensory store. If you pay attention it goes into the short term memory. Capacity- Recieves information from the senses, always getting new informaion. Duration- very limited.
Short- term Memory-Information will decay quickly, needs to be rehearsed. Capacity 7+-2. Duration 18-30 seconds. Encoding- Semantic.
Long- term Memory- Capacity and Duration unlimited. Encoding is semantic. Information is remembered by rehearsal.
