memory

Reading data from a hard disk is a lower speed compared to reading data from main memory.

computer use the higher speed cache between the processor and main memory to improve system performance.

ideally, every program in use shpould be residing in RAM whilst it runs. A higher amount of memory should improve the performance of the computer.
