The total number of people who LIKE to read the newspaper of magazine (the consumer) - not just the people who purchase it.

The readership of the businesses audience is on a large scale. Measn the business has to aim their content at a generalised audience

A business which has a narrow gorup of readers. The paper has to create content centred around a very specific interest.

Definition of Subscription

When the reader pays for a set number of copies in advance rather than purchasing them individually. These are recieved in the post rather than having to be collected.
