Meander Migration

  • A the river flows downstram it becomes deeper and wider. 
  • The meanders also become deeper and wider.
  • The meanders gradually migrate downstream.
  • Deposition builds up to create a valley floor.
  • The erosion and deposition causes the meanders to move gradually downstream.
  • This creates a line of river cliffs.
