ax"+bx+c=0

SOLVING e.g:

(http://hyper-ad.com/tutoring/math/algebra/images/quad_ex227.gif)

x = -4, x = 1 (http://www.purplemath.com/modules/quads/qform02.gif)

1 of 3

Completing the Square

Completing the square:

Rewrite x2 + 6x as a square plus another term.

The coefficient of x is 6.

Dividing 6 by 2 and squaring it gives 9.

x2 + 6x = (x2 + 6x + 9) - 9

= (x + 3)2 - 9

2 of 3

The Nth Term

The Nth Term:

An=b

A=The difference between terms

B= Difference between The first term of the sequence and A

E.g

4,7,10,13,16...

A=3, B= 3-4=1, so Nth term= 3n+1
