Frequency tables.

Frequency tables can be used to identify the median of a set of numbers.

For Example:

Number of Goals: 0 1 2 3 4 5 6  AND Frequency:7 14 13 8 3 4 1

1. Add the bottom numbers together.

2. If there isnt a middle number use: n+1% 2 where 'n' represents the number of values

3. Input the numbers that you have got: 50+1 %2 = 25.5

4. This shows that the median falls ahlfway between the 25th and 26th value.

5. Work out what category your median is in.

7 values = 0 cat

14 values = 1 cat

First 21 values fall in either 0 or 1st cat

The following 13 values = 2 cat: Meaning that values 25 and 26 must be in this category.  MEDIAN IS 2.
