  • slow, ugly, difficult to drive, nicknamed 'tin lizzie'
  • price never increased

  • producing a car a minute in 1929

  • electric conveyer belt carried the partly assembled car past the workers
  • workers did the same job all day
  • didn't waste time
  • one colour and engine size - standardised
  • fewer skilled workers needed
