Key information- 1554- reunited the English and Roman Catholic church, 1555- became Archbishop and wrote 12 decrees trying to remove abuses in the church, 1557- called to return to Rome but Mary refused, 1558- died

Key information- Marriage treaty was biased towards England but he was still unpopular due to him being a foreigner, in the war with France- won Battle of St Quentin with English troops but lost the Calais, often away  so no possibility for an heir
