Marriage and Divorce

Christian View- Marriage

  • Ordained by God
  • A commitment by a man and woman to a binding relationship
  • The purpose of marriage is procreation and fidelity
  • Some controversies exist because

- Natural heirarchy of christ as the broom and church as the bride

-The husband is head of the wife and must love and honour her

-The wife must also love and honour him

-Little equality

Each one of you must love his wife as he loves himself, and the wife must respect her husband
