Advantages

  • Very expensive form of advertising.

  • Can not use visual messages.
  • Not as wide an audience as television.

  • A large number of people will purchase and read national newspapers.
  • Lochal newspapers are cheap.

Disadvantages

  • Usally black and white.
  • Not as attention grabbing as television.

  • Can easily be missed as people go past them.
  • No detailed information.

  • Adverts can be kept for future reference.

  • May not be read.

  • Adverts are in colour and can look more attractive than newspapers.

  • Often only published once a month.
  • Advertising is more expensive than newspapers.
