Magnetic Fields and Motors

-If the current is PARALLEL to the lines of flux, NO force acts

-The direction of the force is always PERPENDICULAR to both the CURRENT direction and the MAGNETIC FIELD

-Use Flemings Left hand rule to get the direction of the force

First finger = direction of uniform magnetic Field N-->S

seCond finger = direction of Current

thuMb = direction of Motion of force

The size of the force is given by F=BIL

F=Force

B=Strength of magnetic field

I=Current

L=Length of wire

Magnetic Field strenth is also called FLUX DENSITY
