Onomatopoeia - A word that sounds like a sound it is describing. (Whistling)

Assonance - A sentence of words that have the same vowel sound in them. (Listening, Whistling)

Hyperbole - A sentence that is over dramatic.

Alliteration - A sentence of words that start with the same letter sound. (The cat caught a cake).

Metaphor - When the writer says something is something else. (The boy is a devil).

Simile - When the writer says something is like something else. (It was like a rocket).

Personification - When the writer gives an object human characteristics. (The car was evil).
