Leisure

Time Avaliable

If an individual becomes unemployed this mesan they will become time rich but money poor. This can infulence the leisure activities they participate in, for example they will not be able to join a club and will most likely participate in free activities, such as TV.

Many people may work away from home which means that they will come home for the weekends, this will have an impact on leisue activities due to lack of time. They will also need time for relaxation and rest will then inturn also impact on the amount of leisure time avaliable, They will also need to socialise with friends.

 Location

Where an individual lives can also have an impact on what leisure activities are avaliable. Large population centres will have a much wider range of leisure facilities and opportunities than those living in more rural areas. Birmingham has many theatres, museums, arenas, leisure centres, parks and restuarants. Smaller towns and villages do not have the same sort of access to these things

 Holidays

Holidays have become a popular leisure activity in recent years. Number of trips abroad have doubled since 1996. Spain is the uk's favourite holiday destination since 1994. France is second popular. The UK has over 6,500 visitor attractions including country parks, zoos, theatres, gardens, museums, galleries and places of worship. These are very popular leisure pursuits.
