- Help us know WHAT just deeds are 

- Helps us determine the right means to an end

- Guide moral virtue= tells us how to carry them out

- Helps us reflect upon eternal truths of science ( logical reasoning)

- WISDOM: enable us to acquire profound understanding of eternal truths of science

EXAMPLES OF INTELLECTUAL VIRTUES

PRUDENCE: common sense, guides moral virtues, knowing from within, guides us into the correct manner of action

WISDOM: knowing what the right thing to do is in a situation

INTUITIVE INTELLIGENCE:  needed to understand and apply virtues, good predictions

- Maintained through practice

- Must actively carry them out for them to become habit

- Help us carry out just deeds that are learnt from intellectual virtues

- Help us carry out the right means to an end

- Knowledge is useless without action"= moral virtues represent the action = they are important in understanding virtues fully
