An object which produces light is called LUMINOUS.
Things that don't produce its own light eg. the floor are called NON-LUMINOUS, but instead these things can be seen becase the light from other sources bounces of the floor. This "bounce" is called REFELCTION.
Think about a single light-ray refelcting as it strikes a flat mirror.
- The light ray which strikes the mirror is called the INCIDENT ray.
- The ray which bounces off the mirror is called the REFLECTED ray.
