what are primary and secondary sectors?

primary sector:

economic activies which involves production of exctracting raw/natural resources. example involves:

  • agriculture/farming
  • fishing
  • mining
  • quarying

secondary sector:

economic activities that involves making things, either by manufacturing (TV), or construction (HOUSE). This sector also includes public utilities such as production of electricity and gas.

what are tertiary and quaternary sectors?

Tertiary sector:

this involves commercial services, this involves production and distribution process, Examples involve:

  • healthcare
  • teaching
  • advertisement
  • warhouse
  • transport

Quaternary sector:

these are special knowledge based industries which form part of economy. examples involve:

  • IT/computing
  • consultancy (for example in a bussiness or hospital setting)

EMPLOYMENT TYPES

full time: when a worker works within hours chosen by the employer (moslty all employe's follow the same amount of hours)

part time employment: similar to shifts, a set amount of working hours are chosen by the employer (the amount of time is not followed by every employee)

temporary employment: this is when  working hours are arranged according to needs of organisation/bussiness 

permanet employement: when working houres are not arranged by employer but set and many benifits come, (such as paid leave and eligibility to switch wrok roles in the job)

self employed: when the worker do not work under any one and normaly is a bussiness owner

Pre-industrial zone: when primary sector leads economy and agriculture is by far most important

pre-industrial zone: the secondary and tertiary sector increase in importance. secondary sector peeks during phase but rarely provides jo for half the work force

posti-industrial zone: the tertiary sector establishes itself as moft important sector primary sector continues decline and quaternary sector begins to appear.
