Describe Hitler's foreign policy aims

Hitler's aims were aggressive, and he openly stated them in his book "Mein Kampf" in 1924:

  1. Destroy the Treaty of Versailles.
  2. Create a Greater Germany (a country of all the German people).
  3. Lebensraum (living space) to conquer land for Germany in Eastern Europe.

How did Hitler return the Saar to Germany ?

The industrial area of the Saar was taken from the Germany by the Treaty of Versailles and put under the control of the League of Nations. After a 15 years a plebiscite was held. The population of the Saar decided if it should be returned to Germany or become an independent state. Most of the population was German . Before the vote , 17,000 Nazi's threatened to impose Nazi rule in the Saar and caused some problem . The plebiscite was held in January 1935 and over 90 percent voted in favour of returning to Germany . This was seen as a huge triumph for Hitler , and reversed an injustice of the Treaty of Versailles.
