Heart thickness according to its functions 1.2.2

The left side of the atria is thicker because it has to have enough pressure to pump blood around the whole body.

Also the aorta is thicker than the veins because it has to have enough muscle to withstand high pressure,

The right atria is thinner because it only has to pump the blood to a short distance which is the lungs.
