gross motor skills involve the movment of the large muscles in the body.

enable functions like:

walking running jumping crawling

fine motor skill relate to the ablity to coordernate the smaller muscles in the body like the:

fingers toes wrists lips tongue

fine motor skills- infantcy

gripping, manipulation and hand eye coordernation.

pincer grip- the finger and thumb are used together to pick up an objectseen from newborn

palmer grasp reflex- an object is placed in the palm, the fingers reflex to surround the object.seen from newborn

raking grasp- use finger and palm to scoop up object

these use the hand but is classed as gross motor skill due to the lack of control
