gross motor skills involve the movment of the large muscles in the body.

enable functions like:

walking running jumping crawling

fine motor skill relate to the ablity to coordernate the smaller muscles in the body like the:

fingers toes wrists lips tongue

fine motor skills- infantcy

gripping, manipulation and hand eye coordernation.

pincer grip- the finger and thumb are used together to pick up an objectseen from newborn

palmer grasp reflex- an object is placed in the palm, the fingers reflex to surround the object.seen from newborn

raking grasp- use finger and palm to scoop up object

these use the hand but is classed as gross motor skill due to the lack of control

gross motor skill performed is more complex, repuire more control over muscles.

often invlove coordernation of one or more limbs.

loss of skin elacticity- the cource of wrinkles

loss of muscle tone and strength- muscle atrophy happens due to reduction level of activity a natural sign of old age
