Groups

In the Periodic Table the vertical colums are called groups. The elemets in a group have similar properties. Because there is a pattern in the properties such as melting point, boiling point and density. The elements in group one are metals because they are shiny when freshley cut and they are good conductors of heat and also electriciety.
