groups 0,1,7

?

group 0

group 0- Noble gases

are unreactive because the outer shell is full

as you go downn the go down the group the boiling point inceases

1 of 3

group 1

group 1 Alkali metals

vet reactive all have 1 elecron in the outer shell and they lose it easily

as you go down the group they get more reactive, the outwe shell is further from the attraction of the nucleus, so more easily lost

There are shells/energy levels inbetween which sheild the nucleus

2 of 3

group7

group 7 - Halogens

are reactive as they have 7 electrons in the outer shell/ energy levels and only have 1 electron to gain

as you go up the group they ger more reactive

the outer shell is closer to the attraction of the nucleus, so more easily gained
