Obama 9/11 Veto

The 9/11 Bill is a bill that would have allowed families to sue the government of Saudi Arabia. Obama vetoed this bill whilst expressing his 'deep sympathies' for the families affected by the violence of 9/11, abnegating his understanding for the families of those affected to see justice for their relatives. However, he argued that the bill would be 'detrimental' to US national interests and could lead to lawsuits against the US or American officials for actions taken by groups armed, trained or supported by the US.

Obama vetoed this bill, this veto was then vetoed by congress.
