Population growth is expected to slow down over the next 100 years.

LEDCS have faster rates of population

• Higher birth rates
• Higher infant mortality rate 
• lack of contraception
• more children= more income

MEDCS have low decreasing population:

• high life expectancy meaning more elderly who will eventually die
• fewer children at later age- both men and women work

Examples of demographic transition model: Russia:falling population; falling life expectancy due to industrial disease,emigration,low fertility rate.Yemen:rising population;early age of marriage,high fertility rate.
