define crime - crime is a breach of a rule or law in which a punishment is given by legal enforcement agencies.
problem with defining crime
- cultural relativity(what may be acceptable in the one country may not be acceptable in another)
e.g drinking alcohol in the uk is acceptable for 18 +, but in islam it is a sin to drink alcohol.
- time bound
e.g soldiers may kill people in the iraq war to keep the queens peace, they are not deliberately killing them without any reason
