Forces and Moments

Moment- a turning effect. Moment is the effect when a lever turns on a pivot. 

This is how to calculate Moment, Force and distance.

Moment=  Force multiplied by distance!  Measured in newton meters=NM

Force=   Moment divided by distance! Measured in newtons=N

Distance=  Moment divided by force! Commonly measured in meters=M

Balanced and unbalanced forces:-

Balanced Forces-

Balanced forces are equal size but are in opposite directions.

Unbalanced Forces-

Unbalanced forces are not equal size but could be in opposite directions.
