Iambic terameter a rhyme scheme consisting of 8 syllables alternate of stree/unstressed syllables 

this structure reflects the skill of the father and seamus' admiration for his father 

first three stanzas have a neat rhyme scheme whereas the last 3 are not neat

with 6 equal stanzas

A full stanza change reflects that when farmer gets to end of plough poet starts new stanza
