born into a farming family 

Iambic terameter a rhyme scheme consisting of 8 syllables alternate of stree/unstressed syllables 

this structure reflects the skill of the father and seamus' admiration for his father 

first three stanzas have a neat rhyme scheme whereas the last 3 are not neat

with 6 equal stanzas 

"with a single pluck of reins"

A full stanza change reflects that when farmer gets to end of plough poet starts new stanza 

No pause conveys the skill his father poseses 

"an expert."causes the reader to pause as a result of the full stop which makes the reader identify the importance of the father and essentialy creates a sense of finality reflecting his admiration for his father

Change in stanza 4 reflects the relationship and the focus coming onto the boy and consequently portrays the changed nature of the realtionship 

Change as beggining seamus followers father but now  last stanza presents father following seamus 

Change in follower reflects the change in the nature of their relationship overtime 

"its my father who keeps stumbling behind me"

"the sod rolled over without breaking"

Ametaphor that shows the similarity of a wave that may or may not break as it turns 

In accrodance with the skilled ploughing aimilar to the mention of the sailing 

Shows the skilled role of the father and his importance
