Relgion in patriarchal

Because women are not allowed to attend places of worship in Judaism during menstruation. 

Women are regarded to be inferior to men because the Bible states that 'Man is made in the image of God, but women are made for men'.

When women get married they promise to 'obey' their husbands when saying the wedding vows.

Women are not allowed be priests in Roman Catholicism. 

Holy texts are made up and written by men.

Religion isn't patriarchal

Because 1992 saw the ordination of women in the Church of England.

Gender neutral language has been added to holy prayers and hymns.

Judaism has allowed women to become Rabis.

For some women wearing the veil is seen as gender assertiveness. 

Jewish men can only claim to be Jewish if their mother was Jewish.
