If the quadratic equation has + and +

When factorised, it becomes...

+ and +   in the brackets

Eg.

5xsquared +36x +7

becomes

(5x +1) (x+7)

1 of 4

If the quadratic equation has - and -

When factorised, it becomes...

+ and -   in the brackets

Eg.

xsquared -8x -20

becomes

(x-10) (x+2)

2 of 4

If the quadratic equation has - and +

When factorised, it becomes...

- and -   in the brackets

Eg.

xsquared -10x +25

becomes

(x-5) (x-5)

3 of 4

If the quadratic equation has + and -

When factoried, it becomes

+ and -   in the brackets

Eg.

2xsquared +3x -5

becomes

(2x+5) (x-1)

4 of 4
