John Locke

John Locke is in support of Aristotle.

He argued that it is impossible for humans to come into the world with pre-existing concepts imprinted in their minds. Rather, we are born a tabula rasa (clean slate) and it is experience that gives us "the materials of reasons and knowledge".

Prime Mover

In order to complete his understanding, he seemed to contradict himself by positing a Prime Mover i.e. a being that does not require an efficient cause to exist unlike everything else.

The Four Causes

The four causes can easily be applied to objects, which seems to suggest that as a way of understanding reality this is common sense.
