Effects Of Lactic Acid

  • Lactic acid effects exercise, training and the ability to maintain physical activity
  • Lactic acid is formed in working muscles in the absence of oxygen
  • The build up of lactic acid causes muscle pain,
  • This often causes muscle fatigue and pain
  • So we are more likely to stop the activity
  • Therefore we can't use the anerobic system for long
  • To recover, we take in oxygen which helps to convert lactic acid into waste products that we can get rid of.
