Educating Rita

Frank has stopped 'looking' at things. e.g the 'picture'

Because Rita wants to learn "everything" she sees things differently.
She is looking at things for the 1st time.

Straight away Rita is taken in by the picture, stage directions show she is "studying the picture".

Frank on the otherhand says: "actually i dont think i've looked at it for about ten years."

I think the quote above is useful when explaining how Frank has stopped 'living' and is simply 'existing'.
