Themes

Power:

Idea of power is very important because it is fundermental to the realtonship. Without the power the relationship wouldn't operate and the objectification and possesive nature wouldn't take place.

Gender:

Focuses on the idea of the man overpowering the woman in order to continue with his control over her, which is reversed at the end of the poem. Body image is soley based on the female not the male suggesting the social attitude towards the subject.

Trangression & Taboo:

Taboo: The idea of the 'feeder' within the relationship is linked to sexual ideas and that someone can control another person's life. Which isn't talked about much due to people feeling discomforted when discussing of female body particulary in this grotesque way.
