DNA

Chromosomes in the nuclei of cells contain DNA, which contain genetic information. Sections of this DNA, called Genes, code for specific proteins that do specific functions.

DNA:

  • Has a Double Helix structure
  • Is linked by a series of cmplimentary base pairs joined together by weak hydrogen bonds
  • Sugars and Phosphates form the strands of DNA
  • Adenine (A) pairs with Thymine (T)
  • Guanine (G) pairs with Cytosine (C)
