G - gross (total)

D - demostic (within a country)

P - product (how much wealth a country produces)

GDP per capita is the average amount a person would own.

Why is this a bad indicator?

  • not everyone works e.g. children
  • some people could be bilionaires
  • so, not 100% accurate

This combines data on...

  • GDP per capita
  • Life expectancy 
  • Adult literacy 
  • Enrolment in education

....to give a score between 0 and 1. The closer to 1 the better!
