Dedicated: the system has a fixed purpose so it is designed for a particular purpose i.e. control the focuse and shutter speed in a camera

General Purpose: the system is designed to do a wide variety of tasks i.e. personal desktop computers, tablets and mobile phones are designed to do multiple tasks. Applications (apps) can be uploaded so the machine can do even more functions.

Control Systems: they are computer systems which control machinary rather than produce an output for humans to read. They are important in manufacturing processes and are increasing being user in domestic anf personal appliances.
