Data!

Definition: Data is the raw facts and figures before they have been processed. "Raw facts and figures" = without meaning

- Data can be alphanumeric characters (letters and numbers).

- Data is raw facts before it has been processed 

- Data has no meaning 

Example:- BAT457 = NO Meaning

Information

Definition: Information is made by taking the data and processing it.

How data becomes Information:

Information = Data + [Structure] + [Context] + Meaning

Processing

Definition: Processing is performing some action on the data. This could be:

- Sorting

- Searching

- Editing 

It gives the DATA meaning.
