Retribution can often be seen as revenge, it is when a person is given a punishment for something they have done wrong.

Rehabilitation

Explanation

Rehabilitation means supporting somebdy and helping them to restore to a better version of themselves. This could also mean helping them to re-establish a previous good reputation.

Explanation

Deterrence is when an individual is given a punishment to deter other people and themselves from commiting further crime in the future.

Explanation

Public protection means that the punishment given should protect the whole of society from the criminal to ensure no harm comes to them.

Explanation

Reparation means the punishment should enforce the criminal to make amends with the person they have cuased harm to, by either paying for damages or helping to make things better.
