reticular fibres

1 of 7

Connective tissue

supports, connects or seperates organs from different tissues in the body

2 of 7

collagen fibres

they provide strength and cushioning within the tissue

connective tissue location

cartilage

tendons

bones

ligaments

4 of 7

elastic fibres

they are bundles of protien and are produced by fibroblasts and smooth muslce cells in arteries. these fibres can stretch up to 1.5 times their elngth and reduce back to its original length when relaxed

5 of 7

reticular fibres

these fibres crosslink to form a fine meshwork and the network acts as a supporting mesh
