Compliance

DESCRIBE:

Public acceptance - to agree out loud but disagree inside, leads to a hort-term change in behaviour/attitude.

EXAMPLE:

 Agreeing to a group of friends when deciding what to do on the weekends.

Identification

DESCRIPTION:

Changing attitudes & behaviour to identify with a social group or social role, leading to a change in behaviour/attitude.

EXAMPLE:

-Football fans during a game

-Musicans at band gigs

-Police officers on duty

Internalisation

DESCRIBE:

Private acceptance, where you agree inside & outisde. This is the deepest level of conformity, and leads to long-term changes in behaviour/attitudes.

EXAMPLE:

All your friends are Veggies and you slowly become a 'full' Veggie, even when away from the group.
