Commonwealth

The COMMONWEALTH is a group of countries formed mainly of former British colonies, working together to promote development, democracy and peace. To do this the 53 member countries are provided with advice from the Commonwealth Secreteriat on issues like Human Rights, Social and Economic Development and youth empowerment. They are guided towards creating sustainable, inclusive and equitable development. Working together the leaders of each country meet each 2 years to discuss and support one another and to improve the relationships with other countries.
There are important trade links between Commonwealth countries - providing a good income for there economies as well as cultural links. People from Commonwealth countries can migrate to other Commonwealth countries which means an increased it shared culture (multiculturalism) further enhancing Britain on the world stage. There are also the Commonwealth Games which are held each 4 years which further promotes working together with other states as well as being a Global event.
