Climate Change - Effects

?

Environmental Effects

- Warmer temps are causing glaciers to shrink and ice sheets melt, causing sea levels to rise

- Sea ice is shrinking, leading to loss in polar habitats

- Rising sea levels mean low-lying and coastal areas will be flooded

- Some species are decling e.g coral reef suffering from bleaching due to rising sea water temps

- Precipitation patterns changing

- Habitats are becoming damaged or destroyed

Human Effects

- Areas have become too hot and dry to inhabit, leading to migration and overcrowding in other areas

- Water shortages caused by changing rainfall patterns

- Crops suffer from rising temperatures and lack of rain

- Lower crop yields lead to increased hunger, ill health and death

- More money spent on reducing the effects of climate change
